Tangent and Normal Cones to Real Surfaces

Abstract: Unlike the complex case,the natural algebraic and geometric definitions of tangent and conormal cones at singular points of real surfaces do not coincide.Nonetheless,these cones provide valuable information about the surface.Some properties of the algebraic and geomctrit cones are discussed.
